Speaker Biographies
Dr. Niraj H. Mehta, MD is a Florida oncologist that has been awarded the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO) Global Health Scholarship and the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) BEST Fellowship Award for a discussion on the approach to oncology in the United States from a global perspective.
Dr. Mehta’s areas of interest include quality of life research before and after treatment, global oncology, integrating complementary strategies for treatment and healing, and the psychosocial aspects of treating cancer.

Dr. Winsome Grant Ph.D., N.P is the Nurse Practitioner Coordinator at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Breast Examination Center of Harlem (MSK/BECH). She received certifications as a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, and Family Nurse Practitioner, and a diploma in Family Planning from different nursing institutions in Jamaica W. I. She has a diploma in Management Studies from the Jamaica Institute of Management as well as a BSc. in Nursing Administration (with honors) from the University of the West Indies.

Dr. Richard Wassersug Ph.D., is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Urologic Sciences at the University of British Columbia. He also holds adjunct professorships in the departments of Medical Neuroscience and Psychology at Dalhousie University, in Canada and in the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia.
Richard is the Co-Lead in developing the Prostate Cancer Supportive Care program in the Vancouver Prostate Centre. This program started in January 2013 with the ultimate goal of providing supportive care to prostate cancer patients and their partners along the entire disease trajectory, from diagnosis to end of life.

Dr. Winkle Bingchung Kwan MBBS, FRCP (C), Dip ABIM, Dip ABR. is a staff Radiation Oncologist specializing in Prostate Cancer and Breast Cancer treatment at the BC Cancer Agency, Fraser Valley Centre. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor in Department of Surgery at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine. Breast cancer and prostate cancer have been his focus areas since he joined the BC Cancer Agency in 1996.
Winkle has maintained a diverse research interest while carrying out a busy clinical practice. He has been the local principal investigator of several NCI Canada cooperative group trials and has also launched a number of smaller local trials on diverse topics.

Mr. Winston Crookendale MBBS (U.W.I.), F.R.C.S. (ED.) is a graduate of UWI Medical school, class of 1974.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in general surgery, and completed plastic surgery training at McMaster University Faculty of Health Science in 1981.
