Eight children recently had a fun-filled day at the Farley Hill National Park, thanks to the generosity of Cancer Support Services (CSS) and the Kiwanis Club of Barbados North.
On Saturday, September 21, CSS hosted their 4th annual Back-to-School Excursion and for the first time, the Kiwanis Club of Barbados North partnered with CSS, to bring joy and excitement to the faces of the children whose parent or guardian is journeying with cancer, or is deceased to cancer, said Janette Lynton, Executive Director at CSS.
During the day, the children ranging in age from eight to 16 years, along with their relatives and friends, took part in several activities and were also treated to a sumptuous catered lunch.
The young ones also received a talk from President of Kiwanis North, Adrian Boyce and Immediate Past President Wendy Alleyne who told the group that if they worked hard and aimed high, their goals can be achieved.
“As Kiwanians we are here to serve the children of the world and in our community. That has been and will remain our main focus, and we have pledged to work closely with Cancer Support Services on projects which focus on children,” he said.
